Welcome to the Great Bookham Project

This home belongs to a busy professional couple with two energetic young boys. Between leading a major UKI Risk business and heading up the Maths department at a boys’ secondary school, their days are full-on — and their old bathrooms simply couldn’t keep up.

This large, detached, family home in Great Bookham, Surrey has barely been touched since the 70’s, with the bathrooms the only upgrade in the 90’s.

The bathrooms were dated, tired, and barely functioning. Now, after a complete transformation, they’ve been reborn as warm, luxurious spaces that work hard for family life. Every detail has been considered to blend beauty with practicality, creating rooms that don’t just look incredible — they’re genuine game changers, making daily routines smoother and adding a touch of calm to busy mornings and evenings.

Studio Shelley Interiors created a grown-up, calm and restful ensuite for the couple with soft blues and pinks. The shower has been made larger and we were able to incorporate a free-standing bath for the ultimate luxury.

The other bathroom has a fun touch and is designed with the young boys in mind. A fun pop of colour in the vanity until and canopy inspired wallpaper with hidden monkeys, make cleaning teeth fun and inspiring. This bathroom will grow with them. Simply remove the wallpaper when the boys are older and paint that wall. We have worked hard to future proof this bathroom.
