How do you charge for your services and how do I get started?
It all starts with a conversation. The first step is to book your free 30-minute design consultation. This relaxed video call is a chance for us to get to know each other, chat about your project, and see if we’re the right fit. No pressure, no hard sell—just a friendly conversation about your home and how I can help.
My promise is that I’ll only suggest working together if I’m absolutely sure I can help you achieve your vision.
Every project is unique and our prices vary accordingly depending on the scope and complexity of the project.
We understand that full transparency regarding budget is important to you which is why design fees are a fixed price. There are no hourly fees or increases for unexpected delays or challenges.
For larger projects, such as whole home renovations or extensive refurbishments, your design fee is broken down into clearly defined stages—each with its own deliverables and payment due at the start of that stage. This gives you full visibility and control, ensures steady progress, and allows you to plan your investment in manageable steps while still benefitting from a high-level, cohesive design journey.
After our initial design consultation held over video, I’ll then visit your property (a £300 fee is charged at this stage), to gain a deeper understanding, go over all the finer details and understand the complexities. This then enables me to draw up a bespoke fixed fee proposal which details the phases of your project and the corresponding fees.
The £300 fee reflects the expertise, experience, and value I bring to what’s known as a site visit—the first step in the process to transforming your home. This visit allows me to fully assess your space, understand your vision, and identify any constraints, forming the foundation for your bespoke design proposal, in real life - which is vital.
It also ensures commitment from both of us, making the most of our time together. I gain the insights needed to create an accurate and thoughtful fee proposal, and, it’s a great opportunity for us to see if we’re the right fit to work together on this exciting journey.
To make sure you get the best creative energy, knowledge, expertise, considered design and attention to detail, access to the best contractors and suppliers and our trade relationships, there is a minimum design fee of 5K for a single room. This price will vary depending on the scope and complexity of the room.
For large renovation projects and/or whole home projects, the minimum design fee is 25K.
These fees exclude VAT and do not cover project costs such as contractors, materials, fixtures, furniture and fittings etc.
Budget & Planning
To ensure we’re on the same page and to make our process as smooth as possible, here’s an overview of how we handle budgets and timelines:
1. Understanding Your Budget
Discussing your budget early is essential for us to tailor our design proposals effectively and avoid any surprises. I will work with you to pull together quotes and establish an overall budget, making sure all elements are considered.
2. Minimum Budget Requirement
For us to provide the quality and service you expect, we typically work with a minimum project budget of 10-15K per room (excluding kitchens and bathrooms, which require higher budgets). This budget should account for all professional fees and services (such as main contractor, architect, interior designer) as well as supply costs (materials, furniture, and furnishings). Additionally, a minimum 10% contingency should be factored in to cover unexpected expenses.
3. Transparent Cost Estimation
You’ll receive detailed quotes covering contractor fees, materials, and any additional costs. We’ll discuss any necessary adjustments before proceeding.
4. Budget Management
We’ll keep you informed about any changes that might affect your budget and ensure your project stays on track financially.
5. Tips for Budgeting
Prioritise Key Elements: Focus on the most important aspects and allocate your budget accordingly.
Plan for Contingencies: Set aside a portion of your budget for unexpected costs.
Communicate Openly: If you need to adjust the budget or have any concerns, let me know—I’m here to help!
Timelines depend on the scope of the project. A single-room design might take 6–8 weeks, while a full-home redesign typically spans several months or longer. Whole-home projects often require a minimum of 6 months of design work before any physical work begins. We’ll discuss specific timelines during our consultation to ensure we’re aligned on expectations.
